I ran into a client the other day who wanted more images of her Air B&B. I asked what she wanted in particular, and she explained that she was after some people relaxing in her accommodation. I explained that that wouldn’t be a problem and asked if she had any models in mind – the answer was “no”.
I suggested that she try and use a simple but effective AI image generator like Gemini AI (which I really like). I talked her through the process and she said she would try it out – I mean really, it’s a great way to achieve great photography without the expenses of rehiring a photographer and paying models.
After I left her, I sat in my car and used the Gemini app on my phone. I uploaded a reference image and simply asked that a new image be generated with an retired couple relaxing while reading a book.

The Gemini AI program did an amazing job in seconds (it even moved the far chair around so you can see the gentleman better), it is a great result that blew her away.
As a local photographer I’m trying to embrace AI technology to enhance my work and my relationships with my customers. I know I’ll probably miss out of a bit of work, but at least my customers will be happy and hopefully trust me when I say I’m an affordable and experienced Hobart based photographer. It’s not all about the money.
