In the past couple of weeks I have beed hired to be sneaky and capture a few wedding proposals.
They are a whole heap of fun. Everyone asks me “what if they say NO”! That rarely happens. If someone is so committed that they want to promise themself to one person for the rest of their life, common sense would say they gave the idea a fair amount of thought.
The hard part for me is the hiding out or trying to blend in A dude standing around with a long lens is not something you see all the time. It’s like being on safari really.
Luckily, I’ve been witness to sheer elation and joy… and yes, relief.
Hobart is a great place to photograph at the worst of times, yet alone the best. Being invited to be a special mon=ment in someones life is an honour.
Being a photographer really is the best job.
