A few years ago, Hobart was lucky enough to be visited by President Xi of China. During the visit there were several ceremonies and signings of agreements. At the final ceremonial signing (it was Antarctic related) he signed a document in front of a photo that had been selected by management within the Antarctic Division – and that photo was one I took of the ice breaker, Aurora Australis. I was lucky enough to be flown onto the ship the first of two helicopters, I was then able jump off quickly to photograph the second helicopter landing. I love being a Hobart photographer.
