I’ve been posting about my recent holiday without taking my cameras and lenses, and the separation anxiety that comes with that experience.

So, here’s another image that isn’t too bad considering it wasn’t captured on a professional camera.

It’s of my wife and her twin sister at the beach – it was 40 degrees. I asked them to move along – and I moved too, as the beach was really crowded. I needed them to align with the sun.

As a Hobart photographer, it’s really unusual to photograph a sunset on a horizon – as we have too many hills, so this was an unusual experience for me (as well as the heat in November). It was a great opportunity to play with a lot of light. I think the image turned out well – despite not being captured on a full frame camera – it helped that my iPhone does capture in RAW.
