Recently, I photographed a wedding at Tarraleah Lodge.
Wow, wow and wow! What a place… I haven’t been there since I was on a school trip in grade 5. It’s not what I remember at all. This “village” is in the perfect location. Miles from anywhere and fully self contained – by that, I mean it has good coffee, great food and a pub.
The accommodation is beautiful art deco, one of my favourite eras. The houses are large, clean and warm.
The wedding was for Alistair and Polly. They had lots of family and friends from all over – international, national and locals, all were able to make this wedding one of the most entertaining weddings that I have captured. Boy, can those people dance!
I loved all 12 minutes when it wasn’t raining or snowing (over the two days I was there). Ah, Tasmania, snow in December. Maybe this is why I enjoyed my time so much. Tarraleah Lodge has “options” when the weather just won’t co-operate. The Bride and Groom were really very relaxed with the ambient temperature and just enjoyed their day.
Here is a snippet of the big day…
