For the first time in perhaps 20 years, I had a great reason to go to the Salmon Ponds at Plenty in southern Tasmania.
I was there for Jake and Jess’ wedding. The rehearsal was a few days before and reminded me of what a traditional English country garden looks like. Very romantic and a beautiful place to be married.
Jake and Jess were lucky that they could get into their reception venue two full weeks before their big day. They hired the hall at Lachlan and then went to work making it sparkle. And wow, what a result they got! I love that Jess, her sisters and their Mum made most of the table/room decorations – it was a clever exercise in keeping costs down without having to compromise, while still getting the look that Jess wanted. The roses came from Jess’ garden, a nice touch.
It was perfect craftsmanship.
For me, the hall presented the common problem… it was really dark. Luckily I now have seven flashes and seven flash triggers and I know how to light big spaces.
A lovely day. Both charming and romantic.
