A few years ago I met a lovely bloke, Keith Midson. He works in traffic management. He asked me to do some photography for him based on traffic (I was super flattered because he is a great photographer himself).
So, capturing images of cars, trucks, emergency services, etc. became a bit perplexing. I knew a few tricks about movement – to make an image look like it’s more than a still image, but I wanted to amp it up.
I bought a variable neutral density filter (ND filter) that allowed me to keep my shutter open for an extended period without over exposing the image.
I parked myself in certain vantage spots in Hobart and waited for a really long time. I took lots of images. I learnt a lot that day.
Here are some samples.
