A friend passwed away a few weeks ago. His name was John Haeny.
He was a famous music sound engineer – he worked mainly in the music area but did quite a few Hollywood films.
I met John when he did some research and he contacted me to have a ‘legacy portrait’ taken.
I am a portrait photographer based in Hobart so it didn’t even occur to me that I was photographing a legend (in certain circles anyway).
He was the recording engineer for The Doors, Linda Ronndstadt, Bobby Darin, Tom Jones, Tim Buckley, Cher, etc. and the list goes on.
I spent a lot of time in discussion with him (literally thousands of hours). I have storied to tell. Amazing stories.
Anyway, here is his portrait during a conversation… RIP John.
