The problem is however, she is quite fearful of the fact that her father is a Hobart based photographer and known by many people. As such, she is self conscious about looking like a “poser”, I completely understand this…
I take a lot of family portraits of other people. Nearly all of the time, my customers want their photo taken, but with my own family – they hate it. In this case I really wanted to take some nice photos, but was forced into a position of having to “steal” shots (like when I photograph children).
There was a nice half an hour or so, when it was acceptable to take photos when all of the other parents were snapping away down at the Henry Jones IXL Hotel on Hunter Street. I was not allowed to set up a shot or stage too much, but got some nice pictures all the same. I wish I had a willing participant and two hours – the shots would have been magic…
